We believe that the way we compile a talent map makes us the best choice in the marketplace. We search methodically and energetically for potential candidate intelligence accessing a broad range of data and well-networked industry sources. We carefully analyse candidates’ career achievements so we can advise you on their strengths and weaknesses. We grade candidates according to overall fit and calibre so we can advise you on which ones to prioritise at the next stage of the campaign.

We do this across sectors and internationally, for organisations who want deep market and candidate insight they can trust.  So much depends on the way we research, such as using online data platforms, but also uncovering and verifying information through conversations with candidates and industry sources.

Output

Each Talent Mapping project that we undertake is designed to meet the exact needs of our client. Whilst our research driven approach remains consistent, the output of the end product is tailored to the requirements of the client.

What underpins every project that our highly experienced consultants carry out, is an attention to detail and quality of insight that ensures our clients are provided with a reliable, useable and targeted set of information that can support them in their short-, medium- and longer-term talent management objectives.

The Process

To generate a map of ready-now, and in some cases ready-later talent, we work with clients to establish a project brief that both parties agree on and that will deliver against the criteria set by our client. Spending time in the early part of a project to ensure that everyone is clear on the required and expected output, results in a much smoother and efficient delivery of the project for all involved.

Following receipt of the brief, a target organisation list and sample candidate pool is identified and ratified with the client. Once absolute clarity is achieved, our consultants move on to use a combination of desk-based research and personal outreach and sourcing, to build an extensive database of qualified potential talent.

Regular touch point meetings are set up to maintain communication with the clients TA lead and hiring manager, supporting our collaborative approach to our projects.

Our final presentation of data is developed and delivered to our client in the formats agreed at brief stage, and that works for their internal ongoing needs.

The talent Map consists of a detailed candidate map with analysis and commentary and grading according to calibre and fit

Following delivery of the Talent Map, we can then extend the project to include outreach should this benefit and support our client at that time. This will include engagement with the tier 1 candidates and approach for career conversations or to arrange a discussion with our client. This is where clients see the benefit of our modular and flexible approach.

If required to carry out this phase on behalf of our client where internal resource might be stretched and additional support is required, our consultants are trained and experienced in this area. This element of our service is regularly taken up for these projects.

At the end of a talent mapping project, our clients will be in receipt of a comprehensive and qualified database of ready-now or ready-later talent that can be handed over to the internal TA function to take forward as required. Alongside this they will also hold a summary report of the top 10-15 tier 1 candidates with full commentary on appropriateness for the role against agreed selecton criteria.

Alternatively, in addition to the above,  our clients may also have a shortlist of engaged candidates who have been pre-screened, and/or interviewed by Research Europe, and/or have internal interviews set up with hiring manager.

Our working documents are built in Excel.  This provides a highly adaptable framework for our con sultants to work within and is also preferred by many clients as it enables them to upload our insight directly into their own database.

Executive Summary

An Executive Summary of our findings is presented to our clients where required as part of the brief. This supports the working project documents already reviewed throughout the duration of the project, and provides a concise breakdown of the research, with key insights in to diversity, geography, talent availability and finally a shortlist if required by the client of the candidates where qualification has been commissioned.

Candidate Profiles

Our candidate profiles are a concise presentation of the individual.  These profiles are straight forward for internal Talent Managers or their teams to take forward to hiring managers, or to hold on file for outreach at a later date.

As  a result of our research based approach to Talent insight and in this case mapping, our process is flexible and can be structured to the unique needs of each client brief we receive – from presentation of data and reporting, to frequency of review and touchpoints, we build each project to serve the needs of the teams we work with.
